English discourse awareness in Vietnamese tertiary education

چکیده
The term “Discourse Awareness” is a new concept in Vietnam. Discourse awareness, conceptualized as classroom pedagogy, can improve students’ language capacity and has gained popularity over time. Our literature review suggested that there been little research into this domain locally This paper aims to discuss the ecology of concept, examine its developments Vietnamese tertiary education, make some arguments for raising discourse awareness teaching learning English. It introduces on Vietnam, which presents an overview supportive role development English learning. Findings outlined how awareness-raising activities have extensively successfully exploited classrooms through practices, teacher literacy development, maximizing cultural competence learners. Since then, it reasonable hold strong belief serve enabling tool facilitate communication.
